WINGS Joins Catalyst HTI

DENVERWINGS Foundation, Inc. (WINGS) announced today it has joined Catalyst HTI, via a satellite presence within the community that is amassed under one roof in the River North (RiNo) neighborhood of Denver.

“WINGS is thrilled to join the bold leaders and organizations who are re-imagining healthcare through this incredible health innovation center,” shared Jenny Stith, WINGS’ executive director.

Stith explains that the goal of re-imagining healthcare is central to WINGS’ mission of supporting the 1 in 5 adults who have experienced sexual abuse in childhood, a history that puts adult survivors at highly increased risk for a number of health challenges, including: obesity, substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety and suicide.

“WINGS was founded upon offering specialized support groups for adult survivors, which have been helpful to so many,” says WINGS’ Board Chair, Trent Feist. “Yet, over time, we have realized that adult survivors need so many more services to be ready for our support groups and to fully heal from and thrive beyond the trauma they have experienced.”

To fully assess survivors’ needs, WINGS led a community needs assessment with the Colorado School of Public Health called the One Voice Project, geared at centering survivor voices, along with the voices of providers poised to support their healing.

WINGS will begin sharing data from the One Voice Project through a series of State Listening Sessions, kicking off their regional events through two sessions to be held at Catalyst HTI on June 25th. All interested parties are invited to participate.

“We’re thrilled to share more about this vital health topic with the community—and to start that effort from Catalyst HTI,” Stith shared. “Mike Biselli’s leadership is contagious and inspiring.  We need more leaders with that same type of courageous spirit to care about adult survivors’ needs and to help us build out the care responses they deserve.”

“I’m incredibly excited and honored to have WINGS at Catalyst.  They are bringing a very important health issue to light that has been overlooked for too long. I know they will bring about impressive change our communities so desperately need,” stated Mike Biselli, president of Catalyst HTI.
